Colin Andrews is a member of The Toastmasters and Masters of Ceremonies Federation based in Yorkshire.
My aim as a fully accredited Toastmaster is to provide you with a quality and personal service which ensures your wedding, special occasion or corporate event runs as smoothly as possible. My uniform adds to the sense of occasion and I am trained to ensure toasts and speeches are announced in the correct order.
As your Toastmaster I would act as a link between the organisers, guests and venue staff. At times the unexpected can happen, but Toastmasters are able to handle problems, relay messages and identify solutions leaving you and your guests free to relax and enjoy your special day/event.
I am trained in the art of sabrage, a custom which dates back to the Napoleonic wars, when handsome cavalrymen celebrated victory by opening bottles champagne by slicing off the neck with a sword.
Some clients ask me to perform the ancient ceremony of “the loving cup” said to have originated in ancient times in the precaution to right or “dagger hand” employed so that the person who drinks may be assured of no treachery!!
Although I have worked in other parts of England, most of my work is in Hull and the Yorkshire region. I am willing to travel to other parts of the United Kingdom and abroad.

Our son's wedding was at Goldsborough Hall, Knaresborough. We wanted to plan the day and keep everything running smoothly without having to get toomuch involved ourselves on the actual day. Having seen a Toastmaster at anearlier wedding where we were guests we decided use look for a suitableToastmaster who would come along for our son's wedding. We came across Colin Andrews a Toastmaster from East Yorkshire who was free for our date. Until we spoke with Colin we didn't realise just how they do for you and how much pressure they take away from you. Colin met us prior to the wedding to go through things and talk about how we wanted things to be done, our venue perfect, the food was excellent, the entertainment was excellent, but Colin our Toastmaster was out of this world. He not only provided his services as a toastmaster but he gave us so much helpful advice. The day was flawless throughout, he arrived, organised the hotel staff, checked that every detail of the day was in order and ready to go . He was relaxed and just so confident in everything he did. He never stopped moving around keeping on top of everything. He personally met every guest as they arrived and made them welcome with a brilliant smile, showing them and letting them know how and where to go. During the wedding breakfast a Colin helped our son to Sabrage a Champagne bottle to the amazement of me and all our guests. Not only did it run like clockwork, he made it fun throughout, stories, jokes, our guests loved him. He made sure our speeches ran well with such a warm introduction of each speech. After the wedding breakfast he checked on everyone, arranged photographers for photos, arranged cutting of
cake. At the end of the day, he bid his goodbyes to our son, his new wife and all the guests. It was wonderful having someone being there for yourevery need. Colin was faultless in everything he did for us. Mr and Mrs Wall, South Yorkshire.
